Barcelona are still hoping to beat Al-Nassr in the race to sign Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic this summer.

This according to Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo, via FCInterNews, who report that the Blaugranas have been at work since Thursday trying to bring the 30-year-old in.

Al-Nassr are currently pushing to sign Brozovic. Inter reportedly expect the Saudi Pro League club’s improved offer by Monday.

The Saudi side are certainly pushing harder and harder to sign Brozovic.

The Croat is inching towards the exit door at Inter, and Al-Nassr are the team he’s looked headed in the direction of. However, the Saudi team are not Brozovic’s only admirers.

Barcelona have also been trying to sign the 30-year-old.

The La Liga champions have made a replacement for Sergio Busquets a priority for this summer transfer window. Having seemingly missed out on Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich and Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimenti, the Blaugranas are ready to turn to Brozovic.

Barcelona Haven’t Given Up Hope On Signing Al-Nassr Target Marcelo Brozovic

Inter and Barcelona had already discussed a prospective swap between Brozovic and former AC Milan and Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessie in January.

Those talks never came to anything. However, the Blaugranas are still ready to make their move this summer.

Barcelona want to offer a cash fee that would convince Inter.

The Spanish giants are aware that Al-Nassr are trying to accelerate the process and sign Brozovic. However, MD report, they consider every day that passes without the Saudi team making the decisive move to seal the deal to be a positive sign.

Only a few months ago Brozovic being sold would’ve seemed unthinkable. However, the midfielder’s situation at Inter has changed.

The Croat has missed long spells with injuries in the season just gone. Whilst he was out, Hakan Calhanoglu has emerged as a starting-quality option in his position.

Moreover, a rift has reportedly formed between Brozovic and Inter. Management of the midfielder’s injuries are reportedly central to the reason for this.

As such, Inter would be ready to cash in on Brozovic. However, only for a fee of a certain size, which they plan to reinvest.
