Inter Milan have lined up Sampdoria goalkeeper Emil Audero as a possible replacement for Samir Handanovic in goal.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri would be interested in signing the 26-year-0ld, and that the Blucerchiati value him at around €8-10 million.

Sampdoria have suffered relegation to Serie B after a debacle of a 2022-23 season.

This will mean that the Ligurian club will have to sell a number of players. Audero is one player who looks very likely to be on his way.

The Italian international is proven at the Serie A level. Audero was hardly at fault for the Blucerchiati’s relegation, and already has suitors within Serie A.

According to Tuttosport, Inter are among the teams who are keen on the 26-year-old.

Inter Milan Identify Emil Audero As Samir Handanovic Replacement

Nerazzurri captain Samir Handanovic is ready to say goodbye after a decade at the club. As such, the Nerazzurri will have to sign a new keeper capable of playing the backup role.

Tuttosport report that Audero is one of the main names on their list.

The Nerazzurri are far from the only team keen on the 26-year-old, however. According to Tuttosport, Lazio are also admirers.

Moreover, Cagliari are also targeting the Sampdoria keeper. The Rossoblu have been promoted to the top flight, and are aiming to make a goalkeeping reinforcement.

Sampdoria are asking for €8-10 million for Audero. However, Tuttosport report, Inter’s hope is that they can lower the cash fee by offering some young players going the other way as part of the deal.

In the meantime, Tuttosport also confirm that Inter are closing in on a deal for young Danish keeper Theo Sander.

The 18-year-old will cost around €2 million to sign from his current club Aalborg, and is seen as a prospect for the future.
