Polish side Slask Wroclaw are keen to sign young Inter Milan defender Tommaso Guercio during the summer transfer window.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, via FCInterNews, who report that the 18-year-old is on the Ekstraklasa team’s radar for the upcoming season.

Guercio was born in Italy, but is of Polish descent. The young defender has always chosen to represent Poland at international level.

The young Nerazzurri starlet has represented Poland from the Under-15 level all the way to Under-19.

Meanwhile, at club level Guercio has come through the youth ranks at Inter. The Polish youth international has been part of the Under-17 and Under-19 teams.

This season, Guercio has gotten his chance with the Nerazzurri’s Primavera team, or Under-21.

At the start of the season he started becoming a regular for Christian Chivu’s side. During the season just gone Guercio has made eleven appearances for the Primavera team. He has also played a number of matches at younger levels as well.

The Pole has not received any call-ups to the Inter senior team as of yet.

However, Guercio has had the opportunity to train with the Nerazzurri’s senior squad, participating in the team’s training retreat during the World Cup over the winter.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi gave a number of youngsters from the Primavera their chance to train with the senior squad.

According to SportItalia, Polish side Slask Wroclaw are hoping to sign Guercio this summer.

They have the Polish youth international on their radar as a young talent to reinforce in defense.

Slask are hoping that the player’s Polish background and the fact that he plays for the Polish national team will help them convince him to sign.

As of yet, Guercio has not signed a senior professional contract with Inter. Therefore, the 18-year-old would be free to leave the Nerazzurri and join Slask.

Based in the Polish city of Wroclaw, Slask have been Polish champions twice, most recently in the 2011-12 season.

Last season, however, Slask faced a relegation scrap. They finished fifteenth in the Ekstraklasa table in the end.
