Simone Inzaghi has made clear to Inter Milan that he wants Romelu Lukaku to be brought back from Chelsea at all costs.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

At the moment, it’s hardly a foregone conclusion that Lukaku will return to Inter for next season.

The Nerazzurri are working to try and sign the 30-year-old Belgian international once again. Their efforts have focused on trying to agree another loan deal with Chelsea.

However, the Blues have so far flatly rejected the Nerazzurri’s offer of another loan.

Chelsea want to sell Lukaku once and for all this summer.

Reportedly, the Blues are holding out for an offer of €40 million for the 30-year-old.

Accordingly, it could prove more difficult for Inter to secure Lukaku’s services for another season than they had anticipated.

Inzaghi Clear To Inter – Bring Romelu Lukaku Back From Chelsea At All Costs

One man who would not be happy about the prospect of missing out on Lukaku is Inzaghi.

The former Lazio coach has always been a big sponsor of the Belgian at Inter.

When Inzaghi joined the Nerazzurri from the Biancocelesti in the summer of 2021, he expected he’d have Lukaku at his disposal. The Belgian had been key to Inter winning the Serie A title in the 2020-21 campaign.

However, a shock departure to Chelsea meant that Inzaghi had to make due without Lukaku in his first season at the helm.

In his second campaign in charge, however, Inzaghi did get Lukaku. The coach had been as adamant as anyone about making an improbable return happen for the Belgian just one season after he had joined Chelsea for massive money.

Even after a season in which Lukaku struggled with injuries which disrupted his form, Inzaghi has no doubt.

The 47-year-old wants to work with Lukaku again. The Belgian’s form over the final weeks of the campaign convinced him of this.

Therefore, as with last summer, the coach will insist to his club. He wants Inter to make sure that Lukaku is wearing the Nerazzurri shirt in September.
