Inter Milan will pocket around €21.8 million in prize money and bonus payments for their participation in the UCL latter stages.

This according to Italian football finance news outlet Calcio e Finanza, who report that the Nerazzurri will receive the final payment from UEFA tomorrow containing the bonus for the Serie A market pool as well as the prize money for reaching the final of the Champions League.

Inter fell at the final hurdle in Europe’s top club competition, suffering a disappointing defeat to Manchester City.

In addition to the obvious heartbreak on the pitch, the Nerazzurri have also missed out on some extra cash. The prize money for winning the final was worth €4.5 million to City, whilst the Cityzens will also earn €3.5 million for playing in next season’s European Super Cup.

However, the Nerazzurri have still gotten one last big payout for playing in the final.

The monetary prize for playing in the final is worth €15.5 million to Inter. UEFA are disbursing the final round of payments from the competition, and this will see Inter receive that amount.

Inter Receive Both Prize Money & Market Pool From UEFA For UCL Participation

That’s not all that the payment from UEFA will contain, however.

Calcio e Finanza also report that all four Serie A teams who participated in last season’s Champions League will also receive their market pool payments.

The amount of the market pool is determined by how clubs from different domestic leagues perform in the competition. Then, it is divided up among all teams from that league based on their individual performances.

Juventus, who bombed out from the group stage will receive a payment of €2.3 million from UEFA tomorrow.

Meanwhile, quarterfinalists Napoli will receive €4.88 million, and semifinals AC Milan will get €5.3 million.

Inter, having reached the final, will receive the largest share of the market pool – €6.3 million.
