Union Berlin are preparing to make their first official offer to Inter Milan for wingback Robin Gosens soon.

This according to German news outlet Kicker, via FCInterNews, who report that the Bundesliga’s Champions League new boys have yet to make their official bid to sign Gosens, but that they are ready to do so in the coming days.

Union Berlin are looking to make reinforcements ahead of their first ever season in the Champions League.

One of the main targets that the club from the German capital have identified is Inter wingback Gosens.

As of yet, Union have not yet made a formal offer to Inter for former Atalanta man. However, Kicker report, it will not be very long now.

The Germans want to accelerate in their pursuit of the former Atalanta star.

Union Berlin Begin Talks With Inter Milan For Robin Gosens

According to Kicker, Union have started the direct talks with Inter.

Whilst previously they had only indirectly signalled their interest in signing Gosens, now the Bundesliga club have directly asked about the possibility of signing the 28-year-old.

The Nerazzurri are reportedly asking for €20 million for the 28-year-old, who is also a target for Wolfsburg, Nottingham Forest, and Bournemouth.

Inter would definitely consider cashing in on Gosens this summer.

Since his arrival from Atalanta in January of last year, the German has never quite nailed down a place for himself at the Nerazzurri.

Last season, he had found himself behind Ivan Perisic in the pecking order. This time around it has been Federico Dimarco who has kept Gosens out of the first-choice starting eleven.

Accordingly, Inter could listen to offers. Monza breakout start Carlos Augusto is reportedly the man the Nerazzurri want to sign to replace Gosens.

A lot will depend, however, on the size of Union’s offer. The German club’s CEO has indicated that they won’t break from their usual strategy to make signings for the Champions League.
