Barcelona cannot make their move to sign Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic until they sell players.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that for the time being the Blaugranas are waiting to offload players for fees before they can make an offer to the Nerazzurri for Brozovic.

Barcelona have made their interest in signing Brozovic clear.

The La Liga champions have made a replacement for Sergio Busquets a priority for this summer transfer window.

Having seemingly missed out on Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich and Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimenti, the Blaugranas have been ready to turn to Brozovic.

Barcelona coach Xavi has even personally spoken with Brozovic on the phone. He has made clear that the La Liga champions consider the Croat a serious target, and of what his place in their sporting project would be.

Accordingly, Brozovic has yet to accept a move to Al-Nassr. Inter have agreed a deal with the Saudi Pro League club.

However, for as long as Barcelona’s interest is in the frame, the 30-year-old isn’t keen to commit his future to Al-Nassr.

Barcelona Can’t Move For Inter Midfielder Marcelo Brozovic Without Making Sales

This does not, however, mean that Barcelona are going to move to sign Brozovic right away.

According to the Corriere, the Blaugranas are not currently in a financial position to make Inter an offer.

The offer to the Nerazzurri would in any event be lower than the €23 million that Al-Nassr have put on the table.

However, even then Barcelona are having to navigate La Liga financial regulations. Given the relative lack of sales so far this summer, there would be no chance of them completing a deal for Brozovic.

Only if Barcelona make some sales can they actually turn their interest into a real offer to Inter or Brozovic.
