Raoul Bellanova had made his goodbye message to Inter Milan after making his move to Torino official for next season.

Writing in a post on his Instagram story, via FCInter1908, the 22-year-old thanked the Nerazzurri for his season of experience now that it is certain that he will not be spending another season at the San Siro following the end of his loan move.

It is official now. Bellanova will be a Torino player next season.

The Granata have agreed a deal with Cagliari to sign the Italian Under-21 international on a permanent basis. He will be donning their shirt starting next season.

Inter had had the chance to sign the 22-year-old on a permanent basis.

The loan deal that the Nerazzurri had to take Bellanova from Cagliari last summer contained a purchase option for them to sign him on a permanent basis when the loan ended.

However, Inter declined to pay that. The Nerazzurri instead preferred to try and negotiate a lower fee for Bellanova. They also considered trying to tempt Cagliari with a player-plus-cash offer.

However, the Rossoblu preferred the superior cash offer of Torino.

The Piedmontese club are keen to make Bellanova a big part of their project starting next season.

Meanwhile, the player himself also said yes to Torino. Having been more of an understudy at Inter last season he could hope for a prominent role playing under Ivan Juric at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino next season.

Bellanova was nevertheless grateful for the opportunity that Inter gave him.

“Thank you for the extraordinary year that’s been full of incredible feelings,” he posted.

“In this big family made up of top-class players, I learned a lot, and the support of the fans helped me face the difficult moments.”

Bellanova admits that “Choices like these are difficult. But now’s the time for me to spread my wings and grow even more. Forza Inter.”
