Inter Milan are ready to begin talks with Udinese to try and sign midfielder Lazar Samardzivc for next season.

This according to Spanish news outlet Relevo, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri are currently the team most interested in signing the 21-year-old former RB Leipzig midfielder, and that they will accelerate the process soon.

Inter are certain to make at least one major midfield signing this summer.

Marcelo Brozovic looks to be heading to Al-Nassr. The Nerazzurri will reinvest the transfer fee for the Croat, and replacing him in the centre of the pitch will be a priority.

Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi is one of the main names on Inter’s list. However, the Neroverdi are not currently budging on a steep asking price for the 23-year-old, and so Inter are looking at alternative targets as well.

Inter Milan Set Sights On Udinese Star Lazar Samardzic

One of the main names that has come onto Inter’s radar as a potential midfield reinforcement is that of Udinese midfielder Samardzic.

The Serbian international, who represented Germany at various youth levels, enjoyed something of a breakout campaign in 2022-23.

Having made 22 appearances during the 2021-22 season, Samardzic was virtually everpresent last time around. The 21-year-old made a total of 35 appearances in Serie A for the Friulani.

The ex-Leipzig star scored five goals and assisted four in the process.

Meanwhile, Samardzic has also won his first senior caps in 2023. Whilst he had been born in Germany and represented Die Mannschaft at youth team levels, he has chosen Serbia.

In any event, Relevo report, Inter are convinced by Samardzic. Whilst the newly-capped Serb is on several big teams’ radar, Inter are the most keen, according to the Spanish outlet.

Now, Inter are prepared to take the next steps.

According to Relevo, direct talks with Udinese to try and sign Samardzic will happen soon.
