Inter Milan could sign both Lazar Samardzic and also one of Teun Koopmeiners or Davide Frattesi this summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInter1908, who report that the Nerazzurri could see Udinese Samardzic as a target in addition to rather than as an alternative to Koopmeiners and Frattesi.

Inter are in for a midfield revamp for next season.

Marcelo Brozovic leaving for Al-Nassr is the first major piece of the puzzle. For the first time in eight and a half seasons, the Croat will not be part of the Nerazzurri’s midfield setup.

Moreover, Roberto Gagliardini has also left on a free transfer. This leaves Inter with four senior midfielders at present.

Now, the club must get serious about making signings.

Inter Could Sign Samardziv + One Of Koopmeiners Or Frattesi

There’s a sense that Brozovic’s sale will be the trigger to start moving for a new midfield signing.

Reportedly, Inter will hold talks with Udinese for former RB Leipzig midfielder Lazar Samardzic tomorrow.

The 21-year-old would certainly be a cheaper alternative to the Nerazzurri’s primary midfield target for much of the summer, Sassuolo and italy star Davide Frattesi.

He would also come cheaper than Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners, another Nerazzurri target.

La Dea want €35-40 million if they’re to sell 25-year-old Dutch international Koopmeiners this summer. Inter could well lower this amount by inserting Giovanni Fabbian in a deal, however.

However, on the other hand, Samardzic is also younger and rawer than either of those two. The Serbian international would certainly arrive with a lot of promise, but not necessarily ready to be part of the starting eleven.

As such, the Corriere report, it’s not out of the question that Inter could sign the Serb and still move for another midfielder.

If this was the case, then the Nerazzurri would be deciding to dedicate significant resources to their midfield rebuild.
