Inter Milan are keen to extend the contract of young midfielder Giovanni Fabbian until the end of June 2028 before sending him on loan.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri will meet with Fabbian’s representatives soon to sort out his future.

Currently, Fabbian’s contract with Inter runs out at the end of June 2026.

However, the Nerazzurri want to lock down their young star past that. Fabbian is someone who they see as a part of their long-term plans, and they do not want him to edge towards the end of his deal.

Accordingly, FCIN reports, the Nerazzurri’s intention is to make sure they extend the Italy Under-21 international’s deal until the end of June 2028.

Once they accomplish that, Inter will work together with Fabbian and his representatives to decide on a new destination for the upcoming season.

Inter Milan To Send Giovanni Fabbian Out On Loan After Extending Contract

FCIN confirm that the likely next step for Fabbian is another loan spell.

The 20-year-old shone in his one season with Reggina in Serie B last time around. Now, he looks clearly ready to make the step up to life in the top flight.

Whilst Napoli, Lazio, and Atalanta are all interested in Fabbian, they would want him on a permanent deal. Inter do not want to sell the 20-year-old.

Fabbian could spent a good chunk of the preseason in Inter’s training camp. This is because Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi wants to observe the young midfielder.

However, after that the Nerazzurri are likely to loan Fabbian out for more playing time.

Bologna and Salernitana have been linked with Fabbian. FCIN name Genoa and Lecce among his suitors.

In any event, a loan move to a team in Serie A looks to be the likeliest course of action for Fabbian’s future. However, Inter will only want to do this after securing the young midfielder’s future.
