Napoli have joined the growing list of Italian clubs keen on the signature of young Inter Milan-owned midfielder Giovanni Fabbian.
This according to today’s print edition of Italian newspaper Roma, via FCInterNews. The newspaper report that Fabbian, who is currently on loan at Reggina, would cost around €15 million.
Fabbian has been in outstanding form on loan with Filippo Inzaghi’s Reggina this season. So much so that the young Nerazzurri-owned midfielder is seen as one of the best midfielders in Serie B over the campaign.
The 20-year-old has been considered to be one of the jewels of Inter’s academy for some time. Last season he was a standout player for the Nerazzurri’s Primavera side as they won the Under-19 Scudetto.
In his first season within senior football, Fabbian has been proving up to the required level.
This has attracted no shortage of transfer interest in the young Inter midfielder.
Napoli Join Lazio & Atalanta In The Race To Sign Inter Starlet Giovanni Fabbian
Atalanta are reportedly admirers of the 20-year-old. Inter could offer Fabbian as part of a cash-plus-player deal for La Dea defender Giorgio Scalvini.
Meanwhile, some reports have also emerged that Fabbian could already be brought back into the Nerazzurri’s first team. The young midfielder could be seen as ready to replace Roberto Gagliardini in the squad.
Lazio are also reported to be keen, and could try to use defender Francesco Acerbi to get Fabbian.
However, La Dea and the Biancocelesti are not alone in pursuing Fabbian. According to Roma, Napoli are also looking at the 20-year-old as a serious prospect.
The Partneopei would need to meet Inter’s asking price for the young midfielder, however. According to Roma, the Nerazzurri will hold out for at least €15 million to get a deal done for Fabbian this summer.
