Former Juventus and Watford midfielder Roberto Pereyra has been offered to Inter Milan on a free transfer from Udinese.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri do not consider the 32-year-old to be a priority target by any means, but that they could decide to move to sign him as a low-cost depth option in midfield.

Former Juventus and Watford midfielder Pereyra’s contract has run out with Udinese. His deal expired at the end of last month.

As things stand, it’s not certain how he’ll move forward. If the 32-year-old does not sign an extension with the Friulani, he can join another club on a free transfer this summer.

Inter are among the clubs to have been linked with Pereyra.

Whilst they would hardly regard the Argentine as a replacement for Marcelo Brozovic, the Croat is not the only midfielder they have to replace this summer.

Roberto Gagliardini has also left the club. Accordingly, the Nerazzurri will either have to replace the 29-year-old or else head into next season with only five senior midfielders.

Roberto Pereyra Not A Major Target For Inter Milan But Could Be Low-Cost Opportunity

Pereyra, who made 33 Serie A appearances last season and captained Udinese, is hardly a priority target for Inter.

However, that doesn’t mean that the Nerazzurri wouldn’t sense an opportunity with him.

Inter are reportedly close to wrapping up a deal for Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi. The 23-year-old would constitute a big investment to reinforce midfield.

On the other hand, the Nerazzurri will not likely want to spend big on a replacement for Gagliardini.

Accordingly, Pereyra could be the ideal profile. The 32-year-old has plenty of Serie A experience, and would arrive without a transfer fee. Moreover, his wage demands would be around €1.5-2 million net per season.

According to FCIN, Pereyra’s agent Federico Pastorello has proposed the idea of a free transfer to Inter.

And as far as a response, the Nerazzurri aren’t going to rush to make a deal. But at the same time, they would not reject the idea out of hand.
