Udinese have made their asking price clear to Inter Milan for midfielder Lazar Samardzic, demanding €25 million.
This according to today’s print edition of Udine-based newspaper Gazzettino di Udine, via FCInterNews.
Inter will reportedly meet with Udinese to discuss a possible transfer of Samardzic this week.
The Serbian international is on the Nerazzurri’s radar as a possible midfield reinforcement. Aged 21 and coming off the back of an eye-catching season in Serie A, they are ready to see if they can agree a deal for him.
Udinese are getting ready for Inter’s interest, although they do not want to sell the RB Leipzig star for too low a fee.
According to the Gazzettino di Udine, the Friulani are expecting an offer of around €15 million from Inter for Samardzic. This is not high enough.
Udinese To Make Asking Price Clear To Inter Milan
Udinese are instead holding out for an offer of €25 million.
Now, it will remain to be seen if the two clubs can make up the difference and reach an agreement for the 21-year-old.
In the meantime, Inter are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Davide Frattesi from Sassuolo. They have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with the Friulani.
It’s not certain how this will affect the Nerazzurri’s pursuit of Samardzivc.
However, they could reportedly aim to sign the Serb in addition to, rather than as an alternative to, Frattesi.
At the age of 21, Samardzic may not be ready to step in and become a regular part of Inter’s starting eleven.
However, the midfielder would certainly be a talent for the future who could grow into the team.
As such, the negotiations with Udinese tomorrow could determine whether Inter can get the kind of price commensurate to what they see Samardzic as.
Inter would not likely want to invest too much in a player who’s not seen as fully ready if they’re already signing Frattesi.
However, if they can chip away at Udinese’s asking price, they could well move.
