The signing of defender Francesco Acerbi on a permanent basis from Lazio will cost Inter Milan €4.78 million in total in their balance sheet for the 2023-24 season.

This according to Italian football finance news outlet Calcio e Finanza, who report that that is the total amount which the Nerazzurri will pay both in terms of the player’s wages, and the transfer fee for the 35-year-old in the fiscal year representing the upcoming season.

It’s official – Acerbi will be an Inter player next season.

The Nerazzurri have activated a purchase option in the veteran defender’s loan deal from Lazio last season.

In his total of 49 appearances made for Inter, Acerbi convinced Inter to sign him on a permanent basis.

Whilst the Nerazzurri had initially been keen to secure a discount on a deal for Acerbi, this did not happen in the end. Instead, Inter have simply paid the amount that the purchase option in the Italian international’s loan deal stipulated.

In terms of a fee to Lazio, Inter have paid €4 million for the former Sassuolo defender.

How Much Signing Francesco Acerbi From Lazio Will Cost Inter Milan

Because Inter are signing Acerbi on a two-year contract, they will amortize the player’s wages over the two seasons of his deal.

This means that both in 2023-24 and in 2024-25, the fee for Acerbi will cost a total of €2 million in Inter’s balance sheet.

Then, there are Acerbi’s wages.

The former Biancocelesti man’s net wages are not reported. However, Calcio e Finanza reveals, the total cost of his wages to Inter is €2.78 million gross per season.

Accordingly, this amount can be added to the amortized cost of the fee in terms of the Nerazzurri’s balance sheet.

Therefore, the deal to sign Acerbi permanently will cost Inter a total of €4.78 million next season. The same should also be true of the 2024-25 season.
