Inter Milan will hold talks with the agent of former Juventus and Watford midfielder Roberto Pereyra next week.

This according to today’s print edition of Udine-based newspaper Il Gazzettino, via FCInterNews, who report that the parties could well wrap up a deal for the Nerazzurri to sign Pereyra on a free transfer during next week’s talks.

Former Juventus and Watford midfielder Pereyra’s contract has run out with Udinese. His deal expired at the end of last month.

As things stand, it’s not certain how he’ll move forward. If the 32-year-old does not sign an extension with the Friulani, he can join another club on a free transfer this summer.

Inter are among the clubs to have been linked with Pereyra.

Whilst they would hardly regard the Argentine as a replacement for Marcelo Brozovic, the Croat is not the only midfielder they have to replace this summer.

Roberto Gagliardini has also left the club. Accordingly, the Nerazzurri will either have to replace the 29-year-old. Otherwise they would head into next season with only five senior midfielders.

Inter Milan To Hold Roberto Pereyra Talks Soon

According to Il Gazzettaino, Inter will hold talks with Pereyra’s agent Federico Pastorello soon.

The newspaper reports that Pastorello will sit down with Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta some time next week.

Il Gazzettino note that Pereyra would likely cost Inter around €5 million in gross wages to sign on a two-year deal. Therefore, the 32-year-old Argentine international would represent a tempting option on a free transfer.

Inter have already made one big midfield signing this summer, in the form of Davide Frattesi from Sassuolo.

As far as a replacement for Gagliardini, it wouldn’t be easy for the Nerazzurri to afford a player like Lazar Samardzic.

Therefore, Samardzic’s teammate from last season Pereyra could represent the perfect option for the Nerazzurri, Il Gazzettino notes.
