Shakhtar Donetsk are holding out for a fee of €35 million for Inter Milan target Anatoliy Trubin.

This according to Ukrainian news outlet Sport.ua, who report that Shakhtar have no intention of selling the 21-year-old at a discounted fee despite his contract situation, and that the Nerazzurri may have to look to other targets instead if they cannot drastically lower the fee.

A deal between Inter and Manchester United to sell Andre Onana now looks close at hand. Inter have identified Trubin as their main target to replace the Cameroonian.

The Nerazzurri reportedly have a personal agreement in place with the player concerned.

The Ukrainian international is ready to sign a five-year contract to join Inter.

However, Shakhtar are not yet convinced.

And, if Inter cannot agree a fee with the Ukrainian club, then they would be stuck trying to find a different solution to replace Onana.

Shakhtar Donetsk Not Offering Any Discount On Anatoliy Trubin

Inter have been hoping that Trubin’s contract situation would pave the road for them to agree a deal with Shakhtar.

The 21-year-old’s current deal with the Ukrainian club runs out at the end of next June. Moreover, he has not indicated any intention of signing an extension.

Therefore, Shakhtar will not have another real opportunity to cash in on Trubin after this summer.

Inter have been aiming to use this fact as leverage in negotiations. They are ready to offer €10 million to Shakhtar, and have hoped to wrap up a deal at a fee in this region.

However, Sport.ua report, Shakhtar aren’t budging.

The Ukrainians have set the price tag for Trubin at €35 million.

Inter are hoping to potentially convince Shakhtar to lower the asking price by offering a percentage of resale fee for Trubin.

Meanwhile, if Inter cannot make a deal to sign Trubin, they could instead decide to move for Atalanta’s Marco Carnesecchi.
