Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal are ready to make a massive money offer to sign Juventus and Inter Milan target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInter1908, who report that the Saudi club are offering the Biancocelesti €40 million, and are offering Milinkovic-Savic a contract worth €20 million net per season.

Milinkovic-Savic’s future is still very much up in the air this summer.

The 28-year-old’s contract with Lazio runs out at the end of next June. Given that he is not signing a new deal, this summer would represent the Biancocelesti’s last opportunity to cash in.

Lazio have been aiming to sell Milinkovic-Savic for a fee of €40 million. They’ve still hoped for a significant windfall from the Serbian former Genk midfielder’s transfer.

And, the Corriere reports, Al-Hilal’s entry into the race to sign Milinkovic-Savic means that they may get their wish.

Al-Hilal Move To Snap Up Milinkovic-Savic Ahead Of Juventus & Inter

Juventus have been the team pushing to sign Milinkovic-Savic.

However, to date the Biancocelesti have not been too eager to make an offer that’s particularly close to Lazio’s valuation.

Rather, Juventus’s strategy has been to make a smaller cash offer and then bolster it with the offer of players going the other way.

For their part, Lazio have been lukewarm on this strategy.

Meanwhile, Inter have also been considering a move for Milinkovic-Savic. Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi would certainly like to sign the 28-year-old, who he worked with for more than five seasons at Lazio.

However, the Corriere reports, an Inter move for Milinkovic-Savic would only have been realistic under one condition – the sale of Nicolo Barella.

Were the Nerazzurri to accept a huge offer from the Premier League for Barella, they’d be ready to replace the 26-year-old with Milinkovic-Savic.

However, that looks very unlikely.

Accordingly, it now looks to be Al-Hilal who are in the driver’s seat to sign Milinkovic-Savic this summer.
