Juventus are ahead of Inter Milan, Arsenal, and Newcastle United in the race to sign Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInter1908.

Milinkovic-Savic’s future is still very much up in the air this summer.

The 28-year-old’s contract with Lazio runs out at the end of next June. Given that he is not signing a new deal, this summer would represent the Biancocelesti’s last opportunity to cash in.

According to the Corriere, however, Lazio are not coming down in their valuation of the Serb.

The club from the Italian capital are continuing to demand €40 million for Milinkovic-Savic. If an offer of that size does not arrive, they may simply decide not to sell him and instead keep the player, risking losing him on a free transfer next summer.

Juventus Ahead Of Inter, Arsenal & Newcastle In Race To Sign Milinkovic-Savic

According to the Corriere, Juventus are the team to have moved into pole position to sign Milinkovic-Savic.

The Bianconeri are not yet prepared to make an offer that meets Lazio’s asking price for the 28-year-old. However, they are putting around €25 million on the plate in addition to midfielder Nicolo Rovella and wingback Luca Pellegrini going the other way.

Meanwhile, Inter are reportedly still thinking about a move. However, the Nerazzurri are not going to offer more than €25 million.

The signing of Davide Frattesi means that Inter have already made a big midfield signing. Moreover, the Nerazzurri have chosen to invest a significant chunk of their summer transfer budget in signing the 23-year-old.

The Corriere report that Arsenal had shown an interest in signing Milinkovic-Savic. However, the Gunners are closing in on a massive money deal for West Ham United’s Declan Rice.

Accordingly, a move for Milinkovic-Savic is unlikely from the Gunners.

Newcastle United have also already made a big money midfield signing this summer, in the form of Sandro Tonali from AC Milan. However, underlines the Corriere, the Magpies could decide to make more investment, so their interest in Milinkovic-Savic can’t be ruled out.
