Inter Milan will only sign a one-year deal with Paramount+ as main shirt sponsors for next season rather than the rumoured three years.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

It’s official – US-based streaming service Paramount+ will be the main shirt sponsor for Inter during the 2023-24 season.

Yesterday, the Nerazzurri unveiled the new home kit, with the streaming service’s logo on the front.

This will be the third season that Inter head into with a different main shirt sponsor. The Nerazzurri have already had Socios.com and DigitalBits as main shirt sponsors following the end of their long partnership with Pirelli.

This had already been anticipated for a number of days, as reports emerged that negotiations with Paramount+ were advancing.

However, from those reports it seemed to leak that Inter were on the verge of signing a three-year deal with the streaming service.

Instead, the Corriere reports, Inter will only sign a one-year contract with Paramount+.

Why Inter Milan Only Sign One-Year Deal With Paramount+

Inter had not initially been expected to keep Paramount+ as their main shirt sponsor at all.

The streaming service had put their logo on the Nerazzurri’s shirt in the finale of last season. This included the Champions League final against Manchester City.

However, Inter have made the unexpected decision to keep the company’s logo for another full season. This comes after all other negotiations with prospective partners came to nothing.

Inter were in talks with multiple prospective partners. There were reported negotiations with all of Korean Air, Wizz Air, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways, LeoVegas, Binance, and Hisense.

However, none of these rounds of talks came to anything.

As such, Inter returned to the table with Paramount+. The streaming service had initially be slated to stay on as the back shirt sponsor for next season.

However, the Nerazzurri have agreed a main shirt sponsor partnership with the US-based company. The deal will be worth a €15 million fixed fee, plus €5 million in add-ons.

This is not as large of a deal as Inter had hoped to agree with a new main shirt sponsor, however.

Accordingly, the club want to start negotiating a different partnership for the start of the 2024-25 season.

For the upcoming campaign, time had essentially run out, and so Inter settled on Paramount+. However, the club do not see this as a long-term solution, and have only agreed a one-year deal.
