Inter Milan look set to miss out on the signing of former Juventus and Watford midfielder Roberto Pereyra who’s on his way to Besiktas.

This according to Turkish news outlet Sports Digitale, via FCInterNews, who report that the 32-year-old will undergo his medicals on the move very soon after agreeing a two-year deal with the Istanbul giants.

Argentine international midfielder Pereyra’s contract has run out with Udinese. His deal expired at the end of last month.

With the Argentine international not signing an extension with the Friulani, he can join another club on a free transfer this summer.

Inter are among the clubs to have been linked with Pereyra. Fiorentina are also reportedly keen.

Pereyra is a player with plenty of experience in the Italian top flight. Therefore his availability on a free transfer has proved tempting to the Nerazzurri who want to reinforce their squad with a sixth midfielder in the depth chart, and not spend much doing so.

However, it looks as though teams within Serie A will miss out on the midfielder’s signature.

Besiktas To Snatch Up Ex-Juventus & Watford Midfielder Roberto Pereyera – Inter Miss Out

Sports Digitale report that Pereyra has agreed terms on a two-year deal with Turkish giants Besiktas. The contract will also contain the option of a third season for the veteran Argentine midfielder.

The outlet report that Pereyra is travelling to Istanbul imminently. There, he will undergo his medicals and wrap up the other final details.

The ex-Bianconeri man has made his decision – he’ll sign his Besiktas contract very soon.

For Inter, this means that they will have to look for another player to lock down their midfield depth for next season.

Pereyra’s ex-Udinese teammate Lazar Samardzic is one player on the Nerazzurri’s radar. The 21-year-old former RB Leipzig midfielder won’t come cheap though.

Alternatively, there’s been one or two suggestions that Giovanni Fabbian could be part of Inter’s first-team squad next campaign. However, Lecce look to be on the verge of signing the 20-year-old.
