Inter Milan defender Stefan de Vrij is hoping that he and his teammates can get their hands on the Serie A title again this season.
Speaking to the Nerazzurri’s official site, the 31-year-old Dutch international also gave his thoughts on his contract extension.
In a few weeks’ time, de Vrij will begin his sixth season as an Inter player.
The Dutchman joined the Nerazzurri from Lazio in the summer of 2018. Since then, he has made over two hundred appearances for the club.
During his time as an Inter player, de Vrij has won five trophies.
In the 2020-21 campaign, his third at the club, the ex-Biancocelesti man played a vital role in the Nerazzurri winning the Scudetto.
Then, in each of the past two seasons, Inter won the Supercoppa Italiana-Coppa Italia double.
What has eluded Inter the past couple seasons, however, has been a repeat of the 2021 Scudetto triumph.
Naturally, they will want to change that in the upcoming season. Inter have already proven that they have what it takes to go all the way in the Italian top flight.
Now, de Vrij doesn’t hide the fact that the team are aiming that high once again for next season.

Of his contract extension, de Vrij said that “I’m incredibly happy to be continuing my adventure with Inter.”
“I feel great being a part of this team, with these teammates, these fans, so I’m very happy.”
“We’ve had a very great journey together already with a lot of trophies and success,” he added. “So I want to keep going along that path.”
De Vrij noted that “We want to keep growing, improving, and winning.”
“And I think this season will be a very good one for us.”
“We want to do better and better, especially in the league,” de Vrij made clear. “We won the Scudetto two seasons ago, in 2021, and we want to win it again.”
