Inter Milan have pulled the plug on talks to sign Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku, but the Belgian purportedly insists he won’t join Juventus.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper report that everyone at Inter is unanimous about dropping the pursuit of Lukaku, and claim that he’s told the Curva Nord that he won’t join the Bianconeri.

The past two days have seen a whirlwind of activity around Lukaku and Inter, to put it mildly.

After weeks of the Nerazzurri trying to negotiate a deal with Chelsea, they appeared to have finally unlocked the negotiations.

With Inter securing an agreement with Lukaku’s club all systems looked to be go. Lukaku always told Inter that returning next season is his sole priority.

And then, in a shock twist, Inter found that the Belgian wasn’t as sure as he’d indicated. They learned of ongoing talks between Lukaku and Juventus.

And at this, Inter decided to respond by completely pulling the plug on talks – they instantly walked away from the table.

Inter Milan Unanimous – Romelu Lukaku’s Story At Inter Ends Now

According to the Gazzetta, everyone at Inter has been on the same page.

From President Steven Zhang through to the club directors and coach, a vote was taken on how to proceed. Everyone came to the conclusion that there can be no path forward for Lukaku.

Therefore, Inter have informed Chelsea that they have no intention of signing Lukaku.

Everything is now done. After weeks of work, Inter have not hesitated or shown any second thoughts.

The Nerazzurri will move on and look for a different striker than Lukaku to sign.

Gazzetta Claim Lukaku Has Told Curva Nord He Won’t Join Juventus

The Gazzetta further suggest that despite the strong links now emerging with Juventus, Lukaku has insisted he won’t join the Bianconeri.

The newspaper claim that the striker called leaders of Inter’s ultras group the Curva Nord.

Lukaku, the Gazzetta claim, stated that even though his story with Inter is now over, he’s not joining Juventus.

The soap opera with Lukaku and Inter has already sent shockwaves around the Nerazzurri and Italian football. A move to bitter rivals Juventus would certainly only add further intense controversy.
