Romelu Lukaku is now looking around for new options after talks with Inter Milan collapsed in spectacular fashion.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Belgian is now reassessing his options, with Juventus far from a guaranteed destination for him despite negotiations.

The rug has been pulled out from Lukaku at this point.

For weeks, it had looked as though Inter and Lukaku were on the same page in trying to secure his move back to the San Siro from Chelsea.

Then, right when it looked as though the Nerazzurri had finally agreed a deal with the Blues, they discovered the extend of the Belgian’s negotiations with Juventus.

This enraged Inter, who pulled the plug on talks immediately. The abrupt end to the saga arrived as Nerazzurri Sporting Director Piero Ausilio informed Lukaku in a short phone call.

With Inter now off the table, the 30-year-old is left asking – what now?

Romelu Lukaku Considering His Post-Inter Options – Juventus Not Obvious

One possibility that naturally emerged was that Lukaku could join Juventus.

It was, after all, serious negotiations between he and the Bianconeri that caused Inter to lose their interest.

However, Juventus would have a lot to do in that case. First, they would absolutely have to sell striker Dusan Vlahovic if they’re to make a sufficient offer to Chelsea.

Moreover, the Gazzetta reports, fan opposition from the Bianconeri faithful could make the Turin giants think twice.

On social media and in in-person protests, Juventus supporters have been vociferous about the matter. They don’t want Lukaku.

There is also the Al-Hilal option. Only a few weeks ago that looked unthinkable.

Lukaku had initially rejected the possibility of the Saudi Pro League as a destination as he looked to be pushing for Inter.

Now, however, perhaps the Belgian would give it a thought.

In any event, the Gazzetta report, Lukaku’s lawyer Sebastien Ledure is now scanning the market for options.

It had looked like Inter for so long that the Belgian hadn’t necessarily considered many other possibilities. And the one that he did, Juventus, may not end up signing him after all.

Chelsea also don’t want Lukaku – they have left the 30-year-old behind to train as they’ve departed for their preseason tour of the US.

So the player is now scrambling to consider his next move.
