Romelu Lukaku has called Inter Milan to try and reconcile, but the Nerazzurri have no interest in trying to sign him any longer.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri have listened to the Belgian’s excuses but that they have still made clear that they’ve walked away from negotiations.

The Lukaku situation has sent shockwaves throughout Inter.

According to the Corriere, the Nerazzurri are nothing short of furious with the player’s antics.

Thusly, the newspaper report, they have completely closed the door to any possibility of rebuilding the relationship with Lukaku. Inter’s directors feel betrayed by the negotiations that the 30-year-old had with Juventus behind their back.

For his part, the striker has hoped to mend fences – he has called Inter to apologize.

Lukaku, the Corriere report, has made his excuses for what’s happened.

But Inter have already decided on their stance. The Belgian’s stunt has left them apoplectic and they don’t feel that it’s possible to turn around now.

The bridge is burned, Inter are moving on and so must Lukaku.

Lukaku Close To Juventus As Inter Milan Bridge Burned

According to the Corriere, it is now only a matter of time before Lukaku makes the move to Juventus.

The talks with the Bianconeri have moved quite far along.

The Turin giants see the Belgian as a perfect replacement for Dusan Vlahovic.

Whilst Lukaku has attempted to reconcile with Inter, that has not worked. The Chelsea striker must make a different decision as he has comprehensively alienated the Nerazzurri.

Therefore, the Corriere suggests, the negotiations with Juventus are the player’s most viable route forward.

Selling Vlahovic will be a vial precondition to the Bianconeri making their move. Once they offload the Serb, however, all systems will be go – the Corriere predict Lukaku will head to Turin.
