Shakhtar Donetsk have dropped the price for goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin to €18 million, but that’s still too high for Inter Milan.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri are still working to chip away at the fee for the 21-year-old, whilst on the other hand they are also very close to signing Bayern Muncih goalkeeper Yann Sommer.

Inter have made Shakhtar and Ukraine keeper Trubin one of their main priority targets to replace Andre Onana.

With the Cameroonian now for all intents and purposes a Manchester United player, Inter are getting moving on the succession plan. And trying to advance in talks with Shakhtar for Trubin is a key part of that.

According to FCIN, Inter are back at the table with the Ukrainian giants.

The Nerazzurri are trying to finally bring the price tag down after some weeks of Shakhtar indicating that they have no intention of letting Trubin go for a cut-price fee.

Shakhtar Donetsk Inching Down With Trubin Price Tag – Still Too High For Inter Milan

Inter’s aim is to take advantage of the fact that Trubin’s contract with Shakhtar runs out at the end of next June.

The Nerazzurri know that this is likely the Ukrianians’ last chance to cash in and sell the 21-year-old. Therefore, they are not planning to go much higher than €10 million in their offer.

FCIN report that the Nerazzurri have now bid around €12 million.

However, from €30 million down to €20 million, Shakhtar still haven’t dropped to what Inter are offering.

The Ukrainians, FCIN report, are now holding out for €18 million.

This represents a drop, but is still higher than Inter’s asking price.

And the Nerazzurri, for their part, have not budged since moving up to €12 million.

As far as Bayern keeper Sommer goes, however, FCIN report that Inter will sign the 34-year-old soon. They are pushing to make sure they wrap up the deal before leaving for their preseason tour on Sunday.
