Atletico Madrid have lowered their asking price for Inter Milan target Alvaro Morata, whilst the Nerazzurri continue talks for Folarin Balogun.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews.

Over the past week, one of Inter’s main priorities has been looking for a striker.

After the Nerazzurri’s pursuit of Romelu Lukaku collapsed in dramatic fashion, they’ve been considering alternatives.

And it now looks as though there are a couple of clear front-runners in the Nerazzurri’s search. And in both cases, Mediaset reports, there have been some developments.

Atletico Madrid Willing To Listen To Lower Offers For Alvaro Morata

One candidate who Inter have been considering for the striker position is Atletico Madrid and Spain star Alvaro Morata.

The former Juventus, Real Madrid, and Chelsea striker certainly has the experience necessary.

They key question as far as unlocking Inter’s pursuit of Morata, however, would be the fee.

Given that the Spaniard will turn 31 next season, the Nerazzurri are only willing to go so high as far as their offer.

And Atletico’s initial asking price of €21 million was too high for Inter.

However, according to Mediaset, the Colchoneros are willing to lower that amount somewhat. The broadcaster reports that the La Liga giants could be willing to make a deal for around €17-18 million.

That would no longer be far from Inter’s initial offer of €15 million. This could represent a significant step towards Inter being able to make a deal.

Inter’s Talks With Folarin Balogun Continue

Meanwhile, Mediaset also report that Inter’s pursuit of Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun is also moving along.

The 22-year-old US international would be the Nerazzurri’s main alternative to Morata.

Whereas the Spaniard would represent an experienced profile, Balogun is a younger player with room to grow.

And according to Mediaset, the talks are ongoing. The Nerazzurri have been discussing the details on a potential move with an intermediary.
