Romelu Lukaku has taken to Instagram to hit out at rumours regarding his rift with Inter Milan this summer.

The Belgian made a post on his Instagram story, via FCInterNews, which simply read that “When the hate don’t work, they start telling lies.”

The last week or so has seen the situation between Inter and Lukaku become a full-blown soap opera.

Where it had long appeared as though the Nerazzurri would do everything to sign the Belgian back from Chelsea, they suddenly pulled the plug last Friday after learning that he had also been negotiating with bitter rivals Juventus.

Numerous reports have since emerged suggesting a tense, volatile atmosphere between Lukaku and Inter.

Reportedly, Nerazzurri Sporting Director Piero Ausilio informed the 30-year-old that things were done in a brief, angry phone call.

And then, today, a report from the Gazzetta dello Sport suggested that there’s no possibility of reconciliation. All of Inter’s players, coaching staff, and club directors are furious and hurt by Lukaku’s conduct, the report states.

Romelu Lukaku Takes Aim At Rumours About His Rift With Inter Milan

What is abundantly clear is that at the moment Inter are not considering signing Lukaku.

As of last weekend, the Nerazzurri’s talks with Chelsea have come to a screeching halt.

This has naturally left the Belgian’s future in a lot of doubt.

If Lukaku does not join Inter, then it’s not clear where he would go – a move to the Bianconeri is hardly a foregone conclusion.

However, the player at the centre of all this speculation evidently doesn’t appreciate all the talk.

It is not exactly clear which reports or narratives Lukaku is taking aim at with his recent Instagram post.

However, the Belgian evidently feels that some liberties have been taken to make the story more sensational.

His message is, however, vague beyond that.
