Out-of-favour Inter Milan goalkeeper Andrei Radu is right on the verge of joining Premier League club Bournemouth.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, who report that the 26-year-old Romanian international is close to making the switch to the Cherries.

Goalkeeper Radu is not a player who looks to have much of a place in Nerazzurri plans moving forward.

Despite the departures of both Andre Onana and Samir Handanovic this summer, there is little chance of the Romanian having a role next season.

Radu will not be either the first-choice or the backup keeper for next season.

Therefore, Inter have been looking to offload the 26-year-old. Given that Radu’s contract with the Nerazzurri runs out at the end of next June, it would seem as though a permanent sale is in the cards rather than another loan.

Bournemouth Closing In On Signing Andrei Radu From Inter Milan

According to Mediaset, it is Bournemouth who are close to wrapping up a deal.

The Cherries are ready to bring the 26-year-old to the Premier League.

Bournemouth have been looking to consolidate their team for new coach Andoni Iraola after they managed to avoid relegation from the top flight over the second half of last season.

Radu will be one of the English side’s reinforcements.

Since joining Inter in 2013 as an academy player from Pergolettese, Radu has gone out on a number of loan spells.

The Romanian went out on loan to both Genoa and Parma in Serie A.

During the 2021-22 season, Radu was Inter’s backup goalkeeper. However, this proved to be a step back for the keeper, who made a high profile error that caused the Nerazzurri to lose a Serie A clash with Bologna, a key moment in the title race which they lost to AC Milan.

Last season, Radu spent the first half of the campaign on loan with Cremonese. Then, after Marco Carnesecchi had displaced him as starting goalkeeper for the Lombard team, he switched to Auxerre until the end of the season.
