The agent of Inter Milan goalkeeper Andrei Radu has confirmed that it’s now only a matter of time before he signs for Bournemouth.
Speaking to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, the 26-year-old’s representative Oscar Damiani made clear that the reports of an imminent switch to the Premier League are true.
Bournemouth have been closing in on signing Radu for a couple days, as Romanian journalist Emanuel Rosu revealed.
Radu has for some time looked like a player out of Inter’s plans.
Despite the departures of both Andre Onana and Samir Handanovic this summer, there would be no role for the 26-year-old.
Radu will not be either the first-choice or the backup keeper for next season.
Therefore, Inter have been looking to offload the 26-year-old.
Agent Confirms: Andrei Radu On The Way To Bournemouth
As of yet, Radu has not officially joined Bournemouth.
But it seems to be only a matter of time. All the agreements are there, and the player is reportedly in England to wrap up all the formalities.
Asked if the transfer is a done deal, Damiani replied “Yes. Everyone is happy with it, the player and Inter.”
As for the formula of the deal, the agent said that “It’s what we agreed, together with the Nerazzurri.”
As for whether any other clubs were interested in Radu’s signature, Damiani was coy.
“That’s no longer important,” the agent said.
“What matters is that now he’s playing in the top league in the world, now let’s hope he does well and gets plenty of playing time.”
During the 2021-22 season, Radu was Inter’s backup goalkeeper. However, this proved to be a step back for the keeper, who made a high profile error that caused the Nerazzurri to lose a Serie A clash with Bologna, a key moment in the title race which they lost to AC Milan.
Last season, Radu spent the first half of the campaign on loan with Cremonese. Then, after Marco Carnesecchi had displaced him as starting goalkeeper for the Lombard team, he switched to Auxerre until the end of the season.
