Davide Frattesi feels that, once he knew Inter Milan were in the race for his signature, it was not a hard choice.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri new boy gave his thoughts on his transfer.

It’s official – Frattesi will be an Inter player next season.

The Nerazzurri wrapped up a deal to sign the 23-year-old from Sassuolo earlier this month.

Frattesi arrives with big expectations. The midfielder has had an outstanding couple seasons in Serie A with the Neroverdi.

Moreover, Frattesi has started breaking into the Italian national team in a big way, starring for the Azzurri during the most recent international break.

As such, Inter were hardly the only team who showed a strong interest in signing Frattesi this summer.

But it’s the Nerazzurri who won the race. And the fact that Frattesi himself wanted to make the switch over all other possible destinations played a major role in that being the case.

Davide Frattesi – Wasn’t Hard To Choose Inter Milan

Asked if it was the positive remarks by Inter CEO Beppe Marotta last season that convinced him to join this summer, Frattesi said that “Actually it was earlier than that.”

“It was the 2-0 win at the San Siro the previous season,” Frattesi explained. “What a stadium!”

“So when I heard that Inter were interested in signing me, my mind was already made up.”

Of his new teammate Nicolo Barella, Frattesi said that “In my opinion Nicolo is the best midfielder in Italy. I hope he keeps that up and gives us a lot this season.”

Of his new coach Simone Inzaghi, Frattesi said that “I met him in Sardinia even before the transfer was complete, but I had already confirmed that I wanted to come here.”

“We’re both happy with the signing,” the midfielder said.

Asked if Inzaghi helped convince him to join, Frattesi said “Yes, absolutely. I can’t say exactly what he told me, but he made it clear how much Inter wanted to sign me.”

And asked which new teammates have particularly welcomed him, the 23-year-old said “Bastoni was the first, then Barella and Darmian.”

“But then everyone did,” he added. “We’d already talked about it while we were with the national team.”

“Everyone had told me that it’s great to be here, and I can confirm that.”
