Man United are out of the race to sign Inter Milan and Netherlands wingback Denzel Dumfries.

This according to UK news outlet The Mirror, who report that the Red Devils are now focusing more on finishing deals to sign Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat and Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund rather than moving for the Nerazzurri player.

Dumfries is a player who has always seemingly had transfer interest around him since joining Inter from PSV in 2021.

One of the teams to have persistently showed an interest in the 27-year-old has been Manchester United.

The Red Devils have been thinking about upgrading in the right-back position under coach Erik Ten Hag.

Last season, the likes of Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka were United’s options in the position.

However, both in January and ahead of this summer window, there have been reports that the Premier League giants could aim to strengthen in the position.

Dumfries has been one of the names that has emerged on United’s shortlist.

Man United No Longer Trying To Sign Denzel Dumfries From Inter Milan

Dumfries is a player who can provide significant attacking impact from the right flank.

The Dutchman has often demonstrated that with key runs, goals, and assists for Inter over the past two seasons at Inter.

Moreover, for his national team, Dumfries has looked increasingly key. The 27-year-old shone for the Netherlands with a MOTM performance in a World Cup win over the United States.

This had marked something of a peak for transfer attention in Dumfries.

United were very much among the clubs to have shown an interest.

According to The Mirror, however, this is no longer the case.

For one, the UK outlet reports, United coach ten Hag is willing to give Wan-Bissaka another chance in the position next season.

Additionally, United have limited resources at their disposal this summer. And they have other priorities to which they want to devote them.

United are keen to sign a striker this summer. And The Mirror confirm that Atalanta striker Hojlund is top of their list.

And, the Red Devils also want to reinforce in midfield.

And once again, the English team want to sign a player from Serie A. The Mirror report that United are pushing to sign Amrabat from Fiorentina.

But as far as Dumfries goes, there is little chance of a move to Old Trafford in his immediate future.
