Bayer Leverkusen forward Sardar Azmoun believes that his national teammate Mehdi Taremi could play for Inter Milan or AC Milan.

Speaking to journalists, as reported by FCInterNews, the 28-year-old gave the view that fellow Iranian international Taremi would have everything it takes to make the move to one of Serie A’s heavy-hitters and succeed.

In recent weeks, Taremi has been linked with both of Inter and Milan.

The Iranian has one season left on his contract with Porto. Therefore, this could be the last chance for the Portuguese giants to cash in.

And Porto would undoubtedly be able to fetch a good-sized fee for Taremi.

The 30-year-old has been in some of the best form of his career over the last season or two.

Both Taremi’s goalscoring and his holdup play have been crucial for Porto, both in their domestic league and in the Champions League.

Therefore, it is not overly surprising that both Inter and Milan are reportedly considering a move.

In the case of the Nerazzurri, Taremi would be a target in the wake of the collapse of their move for Romelu Lukaku.

Meanwhile, for the Rossoneri, the idea would be to sign the Iranian as a backup and long-term replacement for ex-Arsenal and Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud.

Sardar Azmoun Believes Mehdi Taremi Ready For Inter Or AC Milan

Former Zenit St. Petersburg and current Bayer Leverkusen forward Azmoun said that “Mehdi is, without a doubt, a player with great talent who’s done very well for himself at Porto.”

“He’s evolved a lot, and I wish that he’d come to European football sooner,” the 28-year-old continued.

“When he was at Persepolis, I insisted that he make the move to Europe,” the Iran star said. “He deserved it and had the talent necessary to do so.”

“I saw how he’s helped his teammates and made assists,” Azmoun said.\

“Without a doubt, he can play for a team like Milan or Inter. He’s worked hard and played some great matches for Porto.”
