Bayern Munich’s pursuit of Harry Kane is causing headaches for Inter Milan who are impatient to wrap up a deal for Yann Sommer.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Virtually with each passing day, Inter are growing more impatient regarding their chase of Sommer.

The Nerazzurri have wanted to wrap up a deal for the 34-year-old quickly after selling Andre Onana to Manchester United.

The fact that Inter captain Samir Handanovic has also left the club means that the Nerazzurri are currently without a starting-quality senior goalkeeper in their squad.

Inter have failed in their objective of signing Sommer before their preseason tour of Japan. They are currently in the country, but have not yet signed the Swiss.

Now, with the start of the Serie A season just three weeks away, there is a new deadline for the Nerazzurri.

And it is a pressing one – there is no question whatsoever that Inter must head into the start of the season having sorted out their goalkeeping position.

Bayern Munich Pursuit Of Harry Kane Delaying Yann Sommer Deal

For the past couple weeks now, Inter and Bayern have more or less been in agreement.

The two clubs expect a deal for Sommer to happen sooner or later.

And the player for his part wants to make the move. The Swiss is reportedly just as impatient as Inter are for the transfer to happen.

But Bayern have been reluctant to lose hold of Sommer before signing a replacement.

The Bavarians’ latest idea is to try and convince Premier League club Brentford on a loan deal for David Raya. Sevilla’s Yassine Bounou is another top target for them.

Also on Bayern’s list are David De Gea, Robert Sanchezz, Giorgi Mamardashvili, and Oliver Baumann, reports the Gazzetta.

But there’s a problem – signing a replacement for Sommer isn’t Bayern’s current priority.

The Germans are currently going in hard to try and sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.

The past few days, talks with Spurs for the England captain have been all-consuming for Bayern.

Therefore, the search for a new goalkeeper to replace Sommer as the deputy to Manuel Neuer are on the backburner.

For Inter, and for Sommer, this means more delays.

Whilst the Nerazzurri still expect to sign Sommer eventually, they may have to wait until Bayern make progress for Kane.
