Inter Milan could sign yet another striker this summer if Joaquin Correa is to make the move to the Saudi Pro League.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 28-year-old departing could be a decisive factor in how the Nerazzurri build their attack for the upcoming season.

What looks very clear is that Inter will sign at least one more striker this summer.

Romelu Lukaku had looked likely to be that striker. Then, the dramatic and unexpected soap opera surrounding the Belgian left the Nerazzurri searching for other targets.

There’s no doubt that Lautaro Martinez will be at the club next season. And Marcus Thuram has already arrived to join the Argentine.

But the other two slots in the four-man attacking rotation currently look to be in flux.

From the perspective of the club directors, 22-year-old Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun is the top target.

Inter’s directors believe that Balogun’s age and room to grow mean that he would be an excellent investment.

Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi is of a somewhat different mind. The coach still wants to sign Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata or a striker with a similar profile – experienced, physically strong, technically reliable.

How Joaquin Correa’s Future Could Be Key To Inter Milan’s Transfer Window In Attack

If Inter make just one more attacking signing this summer, they’ll have a couple decisions to make.

Not just who they sign, but what kind of qualities they look for.

Inzaghi is leaning towards a traditional Number Nine with physicality and holdup play. But there is also a need for a player with pace and technical ability on the dribble in attack.

Therefore, whether it is Balogun, Morata, or some other target, Inter will have to commit to one profile of player.

On the other hand, if Joaquin Correa were to leave, the Inter would almost certainly make two attacking signings.

The Argentine arrived at Inter two seasons ago from Lazio.

And despite coming for a hefty price tag, Correa never made the impact expected of him. The 28-year-old has only shown his formidable technical quality in intermittent flashes.

Therefore, Inter would hardly turn down the right offers for Correa.

Teams in the Saudi Pro League are reportedly eyeing up the 28-year-old as their summer of big spending continues.

And if they were to offload the ex-Biancocelesti and Sevilla man, they would have more freedom with the rest of their plans in attack.

If Inter were to make two attacking signings, then they could both take the plunge to sign Balogun as a high-potential prospect for the future, and also deliver Inzaghi the reliable target man that he’s been asking for.
