Inter Milan have made an offer worth €25 million to sign Roma-linked striker Gianluca Scamacca, but West Ham United are holding out for €30 million.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, who report that there is a sense that the parties can find a middle ground in negotiations, whilst Roma also haven’t given up on signing the 24-year-old Italy international.

Earlier this evening, Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio reported that Inter have made an opening offer for Scamacca.

Then, UK media reported that the Hammers have turned down the bid.

Now, SportItalia have fleshed out the situation.

According to the broadcaster, the Nerazzurri’s offer is for €22 million, but would include around €3 million in add-ons. Therefore, the total value of the bid could be as much as €25 million.

Reportedly, Inter are keen to get ahead of the competition for Scamacca’s signature, and particularly that of Roma. The Giallorossi have reportedly also stepped up their interest today.

However, SportItalia report that the club from the Italian capital are only offering a loan containing a conditional purchase obligation to West Ham.

In this sense, the Nerazzurri could have a significant advantage.

Inter & West Ham Could Find Agreement For Scamacca

According to SportItalia, Inter’s bid for Scamacca was not high enough for West Ham.

Whilst West Ham don’t expect to recoup the full fee they paid for the Azzurri striker last summer, they’re holding out for as much as possible.

According to SportItalia, the Hammer’s counter-offer to the Nerazzurri was €30 million.

The broadcaster reports that there is a fair bit of optimism that the clubs can find an agreement. There is some distance between the parties in negotiations.

However, the distance between offer and price tag isn’t insurmountable.

SportItalia add that as things look now, it’s a two-team race for Scamacca between Inter and Roma.

And at the moment, it’s the Nerazzurri who are leading the way.
