Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi feels that his team did very well to come back against opposition as strong as PSG.

Speaking to InterTV following the match, via FCInterNews, the coach gave his reaction to the 2-1 friendly win in Japan.

Inter have now played the second of two friendly matches during their preseason tour of Japan.

Having drawn 1-1 with Al-Nassr in the first, the Nerazzurri won the second. They dispatched French champions PSG by a 2-1 scoreline.

It wasn’t necessarily a result that came easy.

In the first half, the Parisians went 1-0 through midfielder Vitinha. It was PSG who looked to be the ascendant force, as they dominated possession.

However, in the second half of the match, the Nerazzurri came to grips with things.

They clawed back some possession, and started to look more threatening.

Two late goals from substitutes Sebastiano Esposito and Stefano Sensi saw Inter run out 2-1 winners. Both came via assists from summer signing Davide Frattesi.

Inter Milan Coach Simone Inzaghi Happy With PSG Friendly Win

Inzaghi said after the match that “This was an important match against a very strong, technical team.”

“We had to suffer initially,” he continued. “But then we found our organization, and started to create chances.”

“We went behind to a screamer from Vitinha. But then we did well to come back and turn it around.”

The coach continued that “We’ve been working in training since July 13. Then the players who had been on international duty arrived on the 18th.”

“There’s still a lot that we have to work on,” Inzaghi added. “But I’m happy with the application that I’m seeing from the guys.”

Of the tour of Japan, the coach said that “We’ve worked hard here.”

“It’s been hot, but we always knew that it would be. The guys have done well to get past that.”
