From shots on goal and creative passing to keeping things ticking over in possession, Lazar Samardzic will give Inter Milan plenty in midfield next season.

Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who highlight the 21-year-old’s statistical profile in Serie A.

Samardzic is not an Inter player yet, but barring major late surprises he will be soon.

The Nerazzurri are right on the verge of finalizing an agreement with Udinese for the former RB Leizpig midfielder’s transfer. Then, he could sign his contract and join in training within the next few days.

Samardzic will add youth and energy into the Nerazzurri’s midfield in addition to depth. The club appear to have identified the Serb as an option for the present and also the future.

And, Tuttosport suggests, the tactical and technical side of the club’s decision makes sense considering the statistics.

What Lazar Samardzic Adds To Inter Milan

One of the main things that Samardzic caught the eye for at Udinese was his quality in the final third.

The 21-year-old created a total of 48 chances last season, second only to Roberto Pereyra in his team.

And Samardzic’s eighteen shots on goal put him level with Sandi Lovric among Friulani midfielders.

This well-rounded attacking profile meant that Samardzic bagged five goals and four assists last season. This meant that at 21 he was the youngest player to get at least four in each category in the division.

Moreover, Samardzic’s passing isn’t just decisive in the final third – he also doesn’t give the ball away too often.

Last season, the Serb completed 85.4% of his passes. This will certainly be an asset for the Nerazzurri as they aim to dominate the ball and keep things ticking over in many matches.

And Samardzic’s quality on the ball isn’t just limited to passing.

The 21-year-old also completed 45.2% of his dribbles last season.

Considering the criticism that this Inter side struggled to break teams down with one-on-one quality throughout last season, that could prove to be a key attribute for the team to have.
