Inter Milan are hoping to finalize the transfer of Bayern Munich goalkeeper Yann Sommer by Saturday.

The 34-year-old is Inter’s primary candidate for the Number One spot following the departures of Andre Onana and Samir Handanovic earlier this summer.

But while the Nerazzurri already have an agreement in place with the Swiss, they’re still struggling to wrap up a deal with the Bundesliga champions.

The German giants signed Sommer last January to fill in for the injured Manuel Neuer. However, Bayern want to make sure that the latter has regained his optimal physical condition before relinquishing the Inter Milan transfer target.

The Beneamata haven’t been able to break the deadlock in recent weeks. However, they’re hoping to turn the tide in their favor in the next few days.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport via FcInterNews, Inter Milan are hoping to wrap up a deal with Bayern Munich by Saturday.

Inter Milan Are Hoping To Finalize A Deal With Yann Sommer By The Weekend

As the source explains, the club’s return to Europe (following the Japan tour) could allow them to reach a turning point in the negotiations.

The report adds that Sommer has a release clause in his contract worth 6 million euros. Nonetheless, the Nerazzurri are hoping to reach a bilateral agreement with Bayern between 4 and 5 million euros.

The source also explains that Inter Milan have pinpointed Sommer as the ideal replacement for Onana due to his technical skills on the ball.
