Inter Milan are reportedly raising their offer for West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca to ward off competition from Atalanta.

The 24-year-old striker has emerged as the favorite candidate to join the Nerazzurri this summer. The management is looking to strengthen the frontline following the departures of Edin Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku.

Inter have already snapped up Marcus Thuram for free. But they still need an additional striker to complete the attacking department.

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Atalanta have entered the race for Scamacca, prompting Inter to raise their offer.

The Nerazzurri already have the player’s consent which should give them a boost in case a tug-of-war erupts.

However, the emergence of new suitors allows West Ham to maintain their asking price rather than accepting discounts.

Therefore, Inter had to raise their offer for the former Sassuolo striker. The new proposal is worth 24 million euros as a fixed fee in addition to 4 million as bonuses.

Now we shall see if these figures would prove sufficient to put the deal over the line.

If not, the Italian giants may have to further increase their bid, putting 25 million plus another 5M as bonuses on the plate. This would allow them to conclude the deal shortly.

Scamacca joined the Hammers last summer following a fabulous 2021/22 campaign at Sassuolo.

Although he couldn’t deliver the goods in his maiden Premier League campaign, he still has his admirers in Serie A.
