Former Juventus and Fiorentina winger Federico Bernardeschi believes that Inter Milan will be equipped to fight on all fronts next season.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in yesterday’s print edition, via L’Interista, the 29-year-old Toronto FC winger gave his thoughts on both Inter and AC Milan’s summer transfer window.

It’s been a busy summer transfer window for several of the clubs at the top end of the Serie A table.

In the case of Inter, some key players have already departed.

Edin Dzeko, Milan Skriniar, and Marcelo Brozovic are all out the door.

However, plenty of new signings have arrived to replace those players who have left.

Among the Nerazzurri’s most high-profile signings have been Marcus Thuram and Davide Frattesi.

Inter have turned over and refreshed a team that reached the Champions League final and won both domestic cups last season, but also had a disappointing Serie A campaign that saw them finish miles back of title winners Napoli.

Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri’s city rivals AC Milan have also done their share of ambitious transfer business.

Like Inter, the Rossoneri have lost a key player – midfielder Sandro Tonali has joined Newcastle United.

However, they have certainly done what they can to replace the Italian international.

Bernardeschi On Inter & AC Milan’s Summer Transfer Business

Former Bianconeri man Bernardeschi said that “Inter are competitive on on all fronts.”

“They intervened in the transfer market where they’ve needed to,” he said of the Nerazzurri’s summer. “And I also expect them to make more targeted signings.”

The Toronto FC winger continued that “Milan have changed a lot but they have a precise idea of how they want to play.”

He noted that “They lost Tonali, to whom I wish good luck, but they kept Leao, a top-class player, and also brought in other good players.”
