Inter Milan are ready to go all-in to try and sign Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun despite coach Simone Inzaghi not being fully convinced.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper also notes that Udinese’s Beto and Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata are on the table as options.

With the Gianluca Scmacca option now off the table just like that of Romelu Lukaku, Inter are once again getting their bearings in their search for a striker for next season.

Yesterday the club’s directors and Inzaghi held a meeting to discuss their strategy.

And according to the Gazzetta, there was a clear theme as far as what the club’s directors want.

The newspaper report that the club directors are still convinced that going after Balogun is the right move.

Inter Milan To Go For Folarin Balogun Despite Simone Inzaghi’s Reservations

For his part, the Gazzetta report that Inter coach Inzaghi prefers to move for a more experienced option.

The coach wants a striker who has physicality and can lead the line.

Balogun’s technical ability and goalscoring record for Reims last season are impressive. But the 22-year-old US international is not necessarily a true Number Nine, rather being a second striker in terms of profile.

Udinese’s Beto is also on the table. The Portuguese would cost around €25-30 million.

The Udinese striker is a physical centre-forward who can lead the line well.

But like Balogun, there are questions about how Beto would adjust to making the step up to Inter.

Meanwhile, Morata is still the option that Inzaghi prefers. However, the club directors are very wary of making a big investment in the former Juventus and Real Madrid man given his age.

Therefore, the Gazzetta report, Inter are ready to go all-in for Balogun.

The crucial question now is how much of a fee Arsenal will hold out for. If the Gunners insist on an amount in excess of €40 million the Nerazzurri will have to look elsewhere.

However, if the demand for Balogun is within Inter’s price range, then a deal will in all likelihood happen.
