Yann Sommer will complete his move to Inter Milan tomorrow, and should immediately join the subsequent training session.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

It’s been something of a long and winding path, but Inter have just about gotten their man.

The Nerazzurri have finally shaken hands with Bayern on a deal for the transfer of Sommer.

Inter will not trigger the release clause in the Swiss’s contract with Bayern. However, they will pay a fee that is right around the same as the €6 million that the clause stipulates, in two instalments.

The Nerazurri had hoped to have Sommer in their squad for their preseason tour of Japan. That did not happen

Bayern’s reluctance to let the Swiss leave before they secured a replacement held the deal up.

However, Sommer will finally arrive, and will at least have time for a couple more friendlies to get up to speed in view of the start of the new season.

Yann Sommer To Join Inter Milan Training Tomorrow

According to the Gazzetta, Sommer will travel to Milan today.

The newspaper anticipates that the 34-year-old will spend the evening in the city and sleep in a hotel.

Then tomorrow morning will be the last one in which Sommer wakes up as, nominally, a Bayern Munich player.

Tomorrow, Sommer will undergo his Inter medicals. Then, he can put pen to paper on his Nerazzurri contract.

After that, the Gazzetta report, the former Borussia Monchengladbach is not going to waste any time.

The newspaper report that Sommer should already be part of tomorrow afternoon’s training session.

The Swiss will then be in goal for Tuesday’s friendly match against Red Bull Salzburg.

Inter and Sommer may not have gotten quite as much preparation time as they’ve hoped for. However, they’ll get a couple weeks at least.
