Inter Milan want a discount on Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun, otherwise, they’ll pursue more affordable options, like Mehdi Taremi.

The Nerazzurri’s search for a new striker has been frantic thus far. The management has been repeatedly bouncing from one transfer target to another.

After missing out on Gianluca Scamacca (who instead signed for Atalanta), the Nerazzurri revived their interest in Balogun.

The 22-year-old is an Arsenal youth product who hasn’t been able to carve himself a place at Mikel Arteta’s court.

The young American proved his worth last season while on loan at Ligue 1 side Stade Reims. But it wasn’t enough to convince the Gunners who still placed him on the transfer list.

However, the North Londoners aren’t willing to part ways with the USMNT star on the cheap.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, Arsenal have recently rejected an offer from Monaco worth 30 million euros for the young striker.

The Premier League giants are reportedly holding out for a considerably higher fee.

For their part, Inter Milan are ready to splash 35 million euros for Balogun, including bonuses.

Inter Milan Could Resort To Mehdi Taremi If Arsenal Don’t Offer Them A Discount On Folarin Balogun

The source claims that the clubs are currently negotiating through intermediaries. However, the Gunners will have to lower their asking price for the deal to go through.

As for the Nerazzurri, if they fail to reach an agreement with Arsenal over Balogun, they will resort to a more affordable option.

This could well be Porto striker Mehdi Taremi. The 31-year-old Iranian international would certainly cost less given his age and expiring contract (in 2024).
