Inter Milan are reportedly still monitoring Atalanta’s defensive trio, Merih Demiral, Jose Luis Palomino and Rafael Toloi.

The Nerazzurri are still looking to bolster their defensive ranks having lost the services of Milan Skriniar and Danilo D’Ambrosio.

The Slovakian star joined Paris Saint-Germain while the Italian veteran made the nearby switch to Monza. Both left on free transfers.

The Beneamata snapped up young German defender Yann Bisseck. But they still need at least one more addition to bolster Simone Inzaghi’s backline.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport via FcInterNews, Inter are monitoring three defenders who ply their trade at Atalanta.

The first is Merih Demiral. The 25-year-old is a Turkish international. He has been in Italy since joining Sassuolo in January 2019.

The Turk also had a stint at Juventus before joining Atalanta in 2021. He has recently fallen out of favor in Gian Piero Gasperini’s tactical project.

The second option is 32-year-old Rafael Toloi. The Atalanta captain has been a staple in Bergamo since 2015.

Moreover, the Nerazzurri are keeping tabs on Palomino, a 33-year-old Argentine defender. The veteran joined La Dea in 2017 and has a contract that runs until 2024.

Besides the Bergamo trio, the source mentions Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga as a fourth option.

The 24-year-old is a former England U21 starlet who has been struggling for playing time in North London.
