Inter Milan are ready to begin talks to sign veteran Bayern Munich striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 34-year-old is the latest name to have emerged on the Nerazzurri’s radar in their striker search, and will cost €10 million.

With the start of the Serie A season just a week away, Inter still have to make another striker signing.

The Nerazzurri will aim to make a low-cost investment, reports the Gazzetta. With €25-30 million in the budget to spread between a striker and then a defender to replace Milan Skriniar, the club are surveying their options.

Bologna striker Marko Arnautovic remains on Inter’s radar. However, the Rossoblu are still holding out for around €15 million.

The Nerazzurri already offered €8 million plus midfielder Stefano Sensi. However, the Emilians rejected this bid.

Meanwhile, the Gazzetta report, Inter are also at work trying to carve out a deal for Porto’s Mehdi Taremi via intermediaries.

However, there are questions about whether the Portuguese will allow their €30 million asking price to be chipped away at much.

Inter Milan Add Bayern’s Choupo-Moting To Striker Shortlist

Accordingly, the Gazzetta report, Inter are still casting a fairly wide net as far as possible striker targets.

That has led the Nerazzurri to look at Cameroonian international Choupo-Moting.

The experienced striker, who has played for an array of clubs including Mainz, Schalke, Stoke City, and Paris Saint-Germain before joining Bayern, would be available this summer.

The German champions will let Choupo-Moting leave after signing England captain Harry Kane in a big money deal.

According to the Gazzetta, Bayern have slapped a price tag of around €10 million on Choupo-Moting.

Therefore, the 34-year-old would fall within Inter’s price range.

Moreover, with Bayern ready to cash in quickly, the negotiations should not be too cumbersome for the Nerazzurri.

As such, the Gazzetta report, Choupo-Moting could prove to be Inter’s opportunity to move quickly, decisively, and without spending too much. They are planning to put forward their bid soon.
