Today will be the decisive day for Inter Milan in their attempts to sign Udinese midfielder Lazar Samardzic.

This according to Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri and Samardzic’s entourage want to finally hammer out a deal, or else walk away from talks, by the end of today.

If a deal for Samardzic to join Inter almost seemed inevitable a few days ago, recent events have changed the situation.

New requests by the Serb’s entourage have greatly irritated the Nerazzurri. They expected that they had terms completely agreed with the former RB Leipzig midfielder after negotiations mediated by agent Rafaela Pimenta.

According to Tuttosport, Inter are prepared to pay Samardzic €1.8 million net per season on a five-year deal. In addition, they’ve already agreed to pay €700,000 in agent commissions, split between Pimenta and the player’s other representatives including his father.

But a couple of days ago, after Samardzic’s medical, the 21-year-old’s entourage made new demands.

Today Decisive Between Inter Milan & Lazar Samardzic

By now, the situation is well-known. Inter are digging in their heels on refusing to meet any eleventh-hour financial requests.

Therefore, everything is down to whether or not Samardzic and his entourage will accept the deal that Inter had agreed via Pimenta. If not, there will be no transfer.

Yesterday, the talks were still at a standstill.

But reports suggest that Samardzic himself wants to make the move. He is still in Milano where he is ready to push to join Inter.

And from the player’s representatives, there is a willingness to try and patch things up very quickly.

Tuttosport anticipate that there will be further contacts today.

If Inter cannot get past the impasse after today’s contacts then the prospects of Samardzic joining will lower dramatically.

On the other hand, everyone involved is still hoping for the deal to happen. And everyone is reportedly aiming to reach an agreement today.
