Inter Milan are in talks to extend the contract of young defender Giacomo Stabile.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, who report that the Nerazzurri have already started discussions with Stabile’s agent Beppe Riso regarding a new deal to secure the 18-year-old’s future.

During the preseason period, one player who’s really benefited from experience with Inter’s squad has been defender Stabile.

The teenager has been playing with the Nerazzurri’s Primavera team since 2022, having come through the club’s youth academy system.

Last season, Stabile really found his feet playing under Christian Chivu. Therefore, the club deemed him to be ready to start having experience working with the senior squad.

Stabile has been part of training throughout Inter’s preseason.

According to FCIN1908, Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi has been impressed by what he’s seen from the youngster.

This is reflected by the fact that Stabile even made some appearances in friendly matches over the period.

The 18-year-old really caught the eye in some of his appearances. He crowned the preseason by scoring late on in a friendly win over Egnatia on Sunday.

Now, according to FCIN1908, Inter aren’t going to wait much longer to make sure they secure Stabile’s future.

The Nerazzurri have been in talks with the teenager’s agent, Beppe Riso.

Riso is an agent who Inter already have a strong rapport with. The Nerazzurri have already worked with the Italian agent regarding several of his clients.

Riso represented wingback Carlos Augusto in his move from Monza, which became official today. Meanwhile, he also represents Nerazzurri new boy Davide Frattesi.

Riso also represents ex-Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini, who joined Monza on a free transfer this summer.

Amidst all these talks with Riso, FCIN1908, the future of Stabile has also come up.

The Nerazzurri have made clear that the young defender isn’t a player they want to risk losing. Therefore, an eventual extension for the 18-year-old is in the works, and not likely too far down the line.
