Ex Cagliari Striker Brands Inter Milan Lazar Samardzic Transfer Debacle “An Absurd Situation”

Former Cagliari striker Jeda feels that the whole transfer saga between Inter Milan and Lazar Samardzic has been an “absurd situation.”

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, via FCInterNews, the 44-year-old weighed in on the Nerazzurri’s failed pursuit of the Udinese midfielder.

Inter’s chase of 21-year-old former RB Leizpig midfielder Samardzic has finally fallen through for good.

The deal seemed to be on life support for a few days.

However, it has proved impossible for the Nerazzurri and the player’s representatives to find any sort of basis for an agreement.

The aspect that really makes the transfer saga such a farce is the fact that Inter had, for all the world, already seemed to have wrapped up the deal for Samardzic weeks ago.

The Nerazzurri had already reached an agreement with Udinese some time ago. And Samardzic even completed his medicals last week.

But in the end, the unexpected new financial demands by the Serb’s agents saw the deal collapse.

The aftermath of the entire circus leaves Inter in a daze. The Nerazzurri had worked hard to get the deal to a point of near-completion, and now start again from square one.

Former striker Jeda opined that “I’m more critical of the people who are in charge olf the player.”

“He wants to play and he wants Inter,” he continued.

“Udinese gave the go-ahead, an agreement was reached, and then the agents arrived and held up the negotiations.”

“If I were Samardzic’s father, I would do everything to bring him to Inter,” he continued.

“I wouldn’t try to bring in a third agent,” Jeda suggested, referring to reports that Samardzic’s father had tried to use the mediation of yet another agent.

“It’s all just an absurd situation,” he spoke plainly about the transfer circus.
