Davide Frattesi: ‘Inter Milan An Important Opportunity For Me, Didn’t Have To Think Long To Join’

Davide Frattesi is very keen to start taking his opportunity as an Inter Milan player.

Speaking in the official matchday programme for the Nerazzurri’s Serie A opener against Monza this evening, the 23-year-old stated that he didn’t have to think very long to accept the offer to join during this summer transfer window.

Frattesi has yet to make any competitive appearances for Inter.

The Italian international has already started to have his opportunities in friendly matches in preseason. And the early indications have been positive, as he racked up a goal against Al-Nassr and assists against Paris Saint-Germain.

Now, Frattesi will experience his first Serie A match in an Inter shirt.

The Nerazzurri begin their competitive season in earnest this evening by taking on Monza.

And Frattesi can’t wait to try and prove himself.

The Azzurri man has certainly earned a strong reputation for himself with his two seasons at Sassuolo. Meanwhile, he has also started to shine for the national team.

But the expectations at Inter will be that Frattesi can kick on and show further improvements.

“I’ve always left my heart out on the pitch'” Frattesi said. “And I’ve taken some wonderful memories along the way.”

The midfielder suggested that “My debut for Sassuolo against Verona remains one of my most significant matches.”

“In terms of goals, I think the one against Mexico with the Italy Under-20 team is particularly significant,” he continued.

“Or the one with Italy in the Nations League third-pace playoff against the Netherlands.”

Frattesi looked back by noting that “2019 was an incredible year for me, and vital in my growth.”

“I met some incredible people who have become an important part of my life, and I had the opportunity to experience something incredible, the Under-20 World Cup in Poland.”

Frattesi looked back on “Two goals scored in the opener against Mexico, and then in the quarterfinals against Mali.”

And another hugely important period for Frattesi is “July 2023, when I arrived at Inter.”

“For me it was a great choice for go for such an important opportunity,” he continued. “Which is why I didn’t have to think long to make my decision when I got the offer.”
